Functional Integration Individual Lessons

The Feldenkrais Method one-on-one individual lessons are known as Functional Integration (FI) lessons.

Who is it for?

Gtakes some movement you are interested in improving or a situation you are having difficulty with as the starting point _22200000-0000-0000-0000-000000000222.

For example, you may come with a desire to improve your performance in a particular activity or skill, such as playing a musical instrument or competing in a sport. Or you may find that something you do in your life, such as working long hours at the computer, is starting to cause you discomfort or pain. Or you may come up with some acute or chronic injury or condition that you will need help dealing with.

How is it done?

Sessions last 45 minutes.Sessions are held fully clothed except for your shoes and, like ATM classes, they are usually held lying on your back, side or front, but this time on a soft but sturdy special table. There are also lessons that can be done sitting or standing. Sometimes various supports (pillows, rolls, blankets) are used to support you or facilitate certain movements.

Healing has no end

It doesn't matter what your starting point is, as the model we work with is "learning" and our target is "development". Whatever you're doing, you can always learn to do it a little better. In describing his method, Feldenkrais"to make the impossible possible, the difficult easy, and the easy elegant""indicates intent.

"Fi Lessons
A Couple Dance
Like this."

Moshe Feldenkrais himself often compared Functional Integration (FI) classes to partner dancing.

In FI classes, I develop a tailor-made lesson for you, which may be related to a specific desire, intention or need of yours. In the process, I engage you in a dialogue by gently touching and moving, aiming to help you discover new ways and possibilities for both how you already act and how you feel.

During the lesson, you do not need to do anything special, except pay attention to your senses. You will find yourself subconsciously constructing a new neuromuscular organization that will emerge when you finally stand up. The result is more choice and flexibility in how you act in your life.

What is the difference between one-to-one FI lessons and group ATM lessons?

The ideas and strategies used in Feldenkrais Method®'s ATM classes are the same here, but My role stands out as a practitioner who will move you using gentle touches. As part of the Feldenkrais Method®, I aim to increase awareness of your body as I accompany and guide you.

Maximize the benefits
to!

To maximize the benefits of functional integration, I recommend doing at least three sessions in a relatively short period of time (two weeks). A ten-session course is recommended to effectively deal with a specific movement problem. Like ATM, you should try to organize yourself so that you don't have stressful appointments right after the session to maximize benefits. One of the best ways to work with the method is to take both Movement Awareness (ATM) classes and Functional Integration (FI) individual classes. In some ways, I think learning in ATM classrooms is more powerful because we really feel like we're discovering it ourselves. There is a power in these kinds of explorations akin to a child discovering something on his own. On the other hand, I also find it very valuable to have FI classes by a skilled practitioner; I can sense possibilities that continue to elude me despite my best intentions or attention.

COMMENTS
Haşhaş alanın üzerinde günbatımı
“When I first started one-on-one lessons, my back ached a lot and it hit my leg. In two sessions, my back pain was completely gone and I can walk more comfortably now.
In addition, due to my neck hernia surgery performed 7 years ago, I had severe arm pain from time to time. With these lessons, I completely passed.  I really recommend it to everyone.”
